General Fantuzzi highlighted the Stormo's importance in training future Air Force pilots. On the afternoon of Wednesday 3 July, Air Force General Giovanni Fantuzzi, accompanied by a delegation from the Logistics Command, visited the 70th Stormo in Latina.
After receiving military honours, General Fantuzzisi proceeded to the “Graziani” hall, where the Wing Commander, Colonel Luca Vitali, outlined the specific flight selection and training activities carried out at the Department, explaining its institutional tasks and organisational structure.
During the rest of the visit, General Fantuzzi was able to observe the Wing's various facilities up close, including the e-learning classroom, the flight simulator room, the Aircraft Efficiency Group (G.E.A.) hangar where the P2006A and SF260EA trainer aircraft were displayed statically, and finally a new, recently completed multi-purpose facility.
The visit concluded with farewells and the traditional exchange of crests and the signing of the Roll of Honour, during which General Fantuzzi expressed words of high praise for the unit's organisation, highlighting the fundamental role of the 70th Wing in the training of future Air Force pilots, to which the essential support of the Logistics Command is guaranteed.
