On Wednesday, 20th January, Lieutenant Colonel Massimo Tammaro was invited to attend ‘Qualità Italia Day’. In 2008, the 313th Aerobatic Training Group ‘Frecce Tricolori’ of the Italian Air Force received the ‘Leonardo Prize’, presented by the President of the Republic, Giorgio Napolitano, for “the commitment, passion, and constant dedication demonstrated in performing collective aerobatic displays”. The Frecce Tricolori, heir to the traditions of Italian collective aerial acrobatics of the 1930s and celebrating its 50th anniversary in 2010, is the largest formation in the world with its ten MB-339s, the agile trainer jets produced by the Italian Aermacchi of Varese and sold in seven countries worldwide.
