Author: Villafranca Main Infirmary (VR) - Col. Dario Di Blasio

The visit was aimed at illustrating the main activities carried out by the Unit, both in Italy and abroad. During the visit, Colonel Di Blasio outlined to Air Squadron General Mario Renzo Ottone, Commander of the C.O.A.-CAOC5, the complex activities carried out by the Main Infirmary, both in Italy and abroad, emphasising the operational readiness constantly guaranteed in the event of public disasters, the support provided to out-of-area operations through the deployment of its medical logistics assets, and, generally, the objectives achieved by the Unit in carrying out its institutional duties. General Ottone, after expressing his deep appreciation for the work carried out by the IPV, outlined to Colonel Di Blasio the ongoing gradual transformation of the Armed Force, which also involves the Poggio Renatico facility, with particular regard to the new organizational and structural requirements resulting from recent dynamics driven by public spending containment.
