The two Organisations are responsible for the provision of Air Navigation Services to air traffic in the Italian airspace. The Coordination and Control Services of the Air Force (A.M.) are responsible for ensuring support for air operations at a national level, through coordination and direct control of Operational Air Traffic (OAT). Through the national cells named “Airspace Management Cell” and “Airspace Coordination Unit”, both based in Ciampino, civil-military coordination for the shared and flexible use of national airspace is also ensured.
