On Friday, 22nd March, Air Force Corps General Pasquale Preziosa met with personnel from the Air Force Schools Command/3rd Air Force Region in Bari. The Chief of Staff of the Air Force was welcomed at Bari Palese Airport by Air Force Corps General Mario Renzo Ottone, Commander of the CSA M./3rd RA. The return to the Apulian capital was a trip down memory lane for General Preziosa, who held the post of Commander of the CSA M./3rd RA from 21st April 2010 to 5th December 2011. After a brief welcome in General Ottone's office, the Chief of Staff of the Air Force attended the briefing presenting the High Command, before taking part in the weekly Staff Meeting held via videoconference with the dependent Departments/Bodies/Institutes. Topics discussed related to the main training and educational activities, with final guidance from the Chief of Staff of the Air Force.
At the end, General Ottone thanked the Chief of Staff of the Air Force for the time he dedicated to what was “His” Schools Command, as well as for the valuable insights, emphasising the importance of maintaining a high level of attention for the future.
During his speech, General Preziosa expressed his appreciation to General Ottone and all the Commanders who joined via video conference for the work carried out, emphasising how the Air Force is a family, a united team working with dedication and motivation, highlighting how “passion, competence and ethics” are three fundamental pillars of the values that unite us. At the end of the meeting with the Commanders of the Dependent Bodies, General Preziosa met with the representatives of the COIR/COBAR and a delegation of trade unions for civilian personnel of the Defence Administration.
Immediately afterwards, at the Officers“ Club, General Preziosa met with a delegation of personnel from the AM Schools Command/3rd Air Region, thanking them for the objectives achieved and instilling them with the right motivation for the realisation of future ones. Recalling his time in Puglia, General Preziosa underlined how ”a sea breeze and a ray of sunshine allow one to draw energy for the achievement of one's goals". At the end of the visit, the Chief of Staff of the Air Force greeted Brigadier General Domenico Chirico, President of the local section of the Air Force Association, and a large representation of it. The day concluded with the signing of the Book of Honour.
