On Thursday, January 14, at the invitation of Attorney Montezemolo, a day was dedicated to Maranello for General S.A. Tei and the attendees of the 75th Regular Course. Representatives of the Italian Air Force, accompanied on this occasion by the Chief of Staff of the Air Force, General of Squadron Daniele Tei, the Commander of the Schools of the 75th Air Force Region, General of Squadron Giampiero Gargini, and the Commander of the ISMA, Brigadier General Claudio Salerno, were invited directly by Attorney Luca Cordero of Montezemolo on September 23, 2009, when, in the role of presenter, he had taken part in the opening ceremony of the 75th Regular Course. The visit began with an illustration by Andrea Stella, the track engineer for the pilot Fernando Alonso, who highlighted the fundamental characteristics of the ’Formula One“ sector in which the ”red“ team has always been involved. Subsequently, at the adjacent Fiorano circuit, it was also possible to climb aboard a Ferrari for some test drives.
The visit continued in the departments of industrial production where the particular production process of a Ferrari car was explained in minute detail; starting from the engine all the way to the painting, it is entirely built at the Modena plant, the only one in the world to boast such a feat.
Following this, accompanied by Mr. Piero Ferrari and Team Principal of Scuderia Ferrari Stefano Domenicali, Mr. Montezemolo met the delegation of the Italian Air Force and thanked General Tei for making the visit possible. The President of Ferrari, in his welcoming speech, highlighted how the Maranello House and the Italian Air Force are two examples of a “beautiful Italy”: two realities that share important values such as love of the homeland, professionalism, the pursuit of perfection, competence, merit, innovation, and a winning spirit.
The Chief of Staff of the Air Force warmly thanked Attorney Montezemolo and his staff for the invitation received, saying he was sure that through the visit the visitors could admire an example of perfect organization, an excellence of our country that makes Italy prestigious in the world. Before the end of the visit, the visitors, visibly satisfied and excited, were also able to visit the Ferrari Gallery, a true ‘custodian of the Myth’, with the images, trophies and cars that have written the history of the ‘Leaping Horse’.
