Friday, 20th November marked the handover to Colonel Luigi Oliva, in the presence of General Bassignano and Inspector General Chief Sarlo. The ceremony was attended by Inspector General Chief Ottavio Sarlo, Head of the Air Force Medical Corps; Air Division General Roberto Corsini, Commander of Milan Combat Forces; Brigadier General Franco Pasquazzi, Head of the Logistic Command's Medical Service; Brigadier General Michele Losito, Medical Advisor to the Commander of the Joint Operations Command (COI); and Brigadier General Pier Valerio Manfroni, Director of the IML in Rome. General Porcù, in addition to thanking the Superior Authorities for the trust placed in him with the assignment, emphasised, amongst other things, the need to enhance the IML's expertise through formal quality certification of the medical activities carried out there. General Porcù has served in various areas of the Air Force, in inter-force national military health organisations and at NATO Headquarters in Brussels (Belgium). General Porcù is married with two children.
