72nd Storm Supports an AIL Project

On Thursday 30 May, the Pediatric Hematology Clinic in Frosinone was inaugurated. The event was organized by the President of the Italian Association against Leukemia, Lymphomas and Myelomas of the Provincial Section of Frosinone, Dr. Maddalena Murchio, who was joined by the Commander of the 72nd Air Wing, Colonel Elio Volpari, in recognition of the contribution made by the staff of the “G. Moscardini” airport in Frosinone as part of the project aimed at providing adequate local assistance to young patients in the province of Frosinone, while avoiding the difficulties associated with continuous transfers to specialized centers in Rome. In thanking all those who made the realization of this project possible,“dream”, Dr. Murchio recalled that “This service aims to fill a significant gap for those young patients in the area who have to go to the Roma Hematology Centers not only for a simple check-up or for maintenance therapy.”. The opening of the clinic is the result of an initiative that the staff of the 72nd Squadron strongly believed in and supported from its inception. Thanks to these initiatives, the project has expanded significantly: the opening of the outpatient clinic will be guaranteed by the first staff member of the 72nd Squadron, while subsequent periods have already been secured by the Association of the Aeronautical Forces of Frosinone and the Ditta.
