The 70th anniversary of the “Indiani” was celebrated in the presence of former members and serving personnel. Attending the event, in addition to military and civilian personnel from the 51st Wing and numerous former members of the Group, was Air Brigadier General Aurelio Colagrande, Commander of the 46th Air Brigade of Pisa. The celebrations began with the laying of a wreath in memory of the Fallen of all wars, in which numerous civilian, religious, and military authorities participated, as well as a representation of personnel from the 51st Wing and the 103rd Group. The day's most emotional moment was marked by the coinciding training activity of the 313th Acrobatics Training Group. Indeed, the Frecce Tricolori made their appearance in the skies over Istrana, thrilling everyone present with their usual manoeuvres. Particular attention and interest were garnered by the setup of an exhibition of model aircraft prepared in the Group's hangar. The reunion, besides testifying to the affection and esprit de corps that unites the “Indiani” of the 103rd, was an opportunity to raise awareness among those present about some charity initiatives supported by the “103 buoni motivi” Onlus Association, demonstrating the concrete commitment that the 103rd Group has long dedicated to social causes, supporting initiatives for the needy.
