The aid was transported by a KC-767A from the 14th Wing. The KC-767A, operated by the 14th Wing of Pratica di Mare (Rome), is an aircraft that guarantees high flight and cargo range. In addition to being used for in-flight refuelling of other military aircraft, it can transport materials and personnel, especially on long-haul routes. Among its uses for the benefit of the community, for example, its deployment to repatriate compatriots stranded in Wuhan in February 2020, at the onset of the global Covid-19 emergency, is noteworthy. The KC-767A is also equipped with the capability to transport highly infectious patients in biocontainment, being able to accommodate up to 10 special isolated stretchers of the ATI (Aircraft Transit Isolator) type.
