The 84th C/SAR Center in Brindisi and the 61st Stormo in Lecce carried out a joint exercise to train pilot trainees in survival techniques, evasion and escape. The exercise lasted two days, during which area interdiction missions and location and retrieval missions were carried out with two TH-500 helicopters taking off from Brindisi.
The purpose of the mission was to allow the training of both the pilot trainees of the 61st Stormo and the personnel of the 84th C/SAR Center for Personnel Recovery operations, so that they could always be ready and deployable in any situation they were called upon to operate in.
