Tuesday 15th March saw an important professional experience at the Experimental Flight Department of Pratica di Mare for the Armament Cadets. During the visit, the cadets were able to witness laboratory tests and technical analyses, view the modern diagnostic tools in the Armed Forces' inventory, and interact with highly specialised engineers and technicians. Practical demonstrations were carried out to illustrate modern non-destructive testing techniques on aircraft components, in particular thermographic, eddy current, and ultrasonic analysis. Special attention was also paid to various macro and microscopic inspection techniques and material hardness testing.
