The Marshal Cadets of the 14th Normal Course of the Air Force School in Viterbo performed Honour Guard duties at the residence of the President of the Republic. The activity began on Saturday afternoon, when the armed Cadets, under the command of Captain Simone Marziali and accompanied by the School's Regimental Flag, carried out the handover, within the courtyard of the Quirinal Palace, to their colleagues from the Italian Army's Signals School. For twenty-four hours, the Marshal Cadets alternated in guard duty, experiencing unique sensations in an atmosphere that is difficult to replicate. The Honour Guard duty concluded the following day, when the Cadets, with the classic changing of the guard ceremony held on the esplanade in front of the presidential residence, swapped out with colleagues from the Air Force's Honour Company. A large crowd attended the ceremony, underscoring the most emotional moments with applause. For the students of the 14th Course, who enrolled last August, the duty at the Quirinal Palace represented the first of a series of experiences they will undertake during their three years at the School, in addition to the didactic activities planned in the Study Plan.
