The students of the first year of the Ghibli Course went on an educational visit to the 4th Wing in Grosseto
Upon arrival, the young trainees (27 men and 8 women) attended a briefing on the organisation and activities of the Stormo, with particular regard to the fundamental role played by the Unit in national Air Defence.
At the end of the briefing, the trainees visited the 20th O.C.U. (Operational Conversion Unit) Group, where pilots transition to the EFA aircraft, and had the valuable opportunity to try out the flight simulator actually used for the pilots' training activities.
The visit then continued to the 904th G.E.A. (Aircraft Efficiency Group), where daily maintenance and preparation of Eurofighter aircraft is carried out.
During the day, the trainees were able to deepen their knowledge regarding the operational activities carried out by the Unit, also witnessing the flight activities of the Eurofighter aircraft.
The instructional activity is included in the Educational Offer Plan of the “G. Douhet” School, with the aim of introducing the students to the various aeronautical realities of the Armed Force.
