The Air Force provides, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, without interruption, search and rescue for aircraft crews in distress, in addition to contributing to public utility activities such as the search for missing persons at sea or in the mountains, the emergency medical transport of seriously ill patients in danger of life, and the rescue of severely traumatized individuals, operating in any weather conditions. Since its establishment to date, the crews of the 15th Stormo have rescued more than 7200 people in life-threatening danger.
