Marina Militare Pink Ribbon Tour 2024: the Italian Air Force wins two important awards

The “Marina Militare – Nastro Rosa Tour Giro dell’Italia a vela” is an international sporting event along the coasts and lighthouses of the Mediterranean.

The Italian Air Force team, as part of the fourth edition of the “Marina Militare – Nastro Rosa Tour Giro dell’Italia a vela”, organised by Difesa Servizi S.p.A. in collaboration with the Italian Navy and concluding on July 20th with a closing ceremony in Venice, won the “Giro d’Italia a Vela” in the “Figaro 3” discipline and the “Trofeo Amerigo Vespucci – Interforce Italian Championship”.

The crew, consisting of Lieutenant Giancarlo Simeoli, Warrant Officer Giovanni Bannetta, and Leading Aircraftman Niccolò Bertola, was received by Air Chief Marshal Luca Goretti, Chief of Staff of the Air Force, and Air Chief Marshal Giandomenico Taricco, Commander of the Rome Air Force Command (COMAER), who took the opportunity to congratulate them on their prestigious achievement.

Accompanying them were Colonel Luigi Barbagallo, Commander of the Vigna di Valle Airport Command/Air Force Historical and Sports Centre, Lieutenant Colonel Giancarlo Sergi, Commander of the Air Force Sports Centre, and Warrant Officer Carlo Diomaiuta, responsible for sailing sports at the Vigna di Valle Airport Command/Air Force Historical and Sports Centre.
