Training: Team Procurement Division of Leonardo Electronics at a lecture at the Institute of Military Aeronautical Sciences

Experiential training course by the Department of Educational and Management Training of the I.S.M.A. for 45 resources from the Electronics Division

On Thursday 26 September, it ended in Florence at the Department for Didactic and Managerial Training of the’Institute of Air Force Military Sciences the experiential training course aimed at 45 resources belonging to Procurement function of the Electronics Division Leonardo S.p.A.

The course, promoted by Dr. Marco Romagnoli, Director of Procurement Of the Division, a team of experienced training experts from the Florentine Institute was engaged in two days of high-quality training, with the aim of strengthening the cohesion among the functions’ resources. Procurement of the Electronic Division, deployed throughout the national territory. Among the main results set for these sessions is the improvement in efficiency in the relational dynamics between staff, in line with the strategic objectives, within the framework of leadership development.

The Electronic Division stands out for its innovation and integration of technologies, helping to ensure safety and operational efficiency in various contexts. In particular, it offers advanced, multi-domain technological solutions (air, land, sea, space, cyber) for security within and outside national borders and for the management of complex civil infrastructures; sensors and C4ISTAR systems (Command, Control, Communication, Computers, Intelligence, Surveillance, Target Acquisition, Reconnaissance) and self-protection equipment that allow field forces to be aware of the operational scenario and have superior information superiority, supporting decisions and interventions along the entire command chain.

The Florence Department produced a Taylorizing training based on courses aimed at military personnel, merging with transversal skills through activities related to “trust”, “team building”, “decision-making”and“ complexity”. The course was designed and conducted using so-called “blended“That is, with face-to-face classes in the classroom and experiential activities outside.

The Institute of Military Aeronautics Sciences, under the command of the Schools/3rd Air Region, is the venue for numerous training activities, including the Normal Master Course, the State Major Course for Captains of Special Roles, and additional training events planned for the rank of Major/Lieutenant Colonel and Colonel for Officers who will assume the function of Group and Department Commander; to these, the Seminar for Brigade Generals has also been added, which serves as a clear opportunity for reflection, during which to exchange experiences and knowledge, as well as to enhance the tools of analysis and stimulate the strategic thinking of future leaders of the Armed Forces. At the ISMA, the course “Public Affairs Officer” for specialists in information and institutional communication is also offered.

The Department for Educational and Managerial Training (Re.Fo.Di.Ma.) is included in and operational within ISMA, which has the task of conducting training activities in person and via distance learning (e-learning) and of the related research/development in the fields of teaching methodologies and managerial skills, especially in collaboration with the University of Florence. As a result, the Department is the focal point within the Italian Air Force for e-learning methodology and leadership training.
The Re.Fo.Di.Ma. is also responsible for the training of professionals who, in various capacities, are involved in designing and evaluating training programs: for this purpose, a course on Educational Design and Evaluation for Training Managers is offered, in which advanced techniques and tools are provided that are essential for creating courses based on the maximum possible educational effectiveness.

In collaboration with the University of Florence, the Department of Educational and Managerial Training also offers advanced training courses, specifically in the following areas: Human Resource Management, Regarding the managerial field, and regarding the new training methodologies (experiential/outdoor training) regarding innovative teaching methods.

The Institute also establishes itself as a cultural and intellectual centre for the Armed Forces, hosting international congresses and seminars of an aeronautical and military nature, as well as national and international conferences, study groups, and working groups. The ISMA's logistical and technological capabilities are also recognised and appreciated at inter-force and international levels for hosting symposia, working tables, meetings, and committee.
