The signing of the agreement represents a further step in the Center’s program of opening up to entities outside the Armed Forces. On Thursday, May 31, at the Aviation English Training Center (Cen.For.Av.En.) in Loreto (AN), Colonel Davide Salerno, the center’s commander, and the University of Macerata’s Rector Francesco Adornato signed the agreement between the Cen.For.Av.En. and the University of Macerata. The agreement is part of the program of opening up to entities outside the Armed Forces that the Cen.For.Av.En. has been pursuing for several years with various initiatives. In particular, the agreement with the University of Macerata focuses on training, evaluation, and experimentation activities in areas of common interest, such as teaching, research activities, consulting, and training. As stated by the Rector, this is an important day for both the University of Macerata and the Cen.For.Av.En., two Marche-based entities united by their focus on training in the linguistic sector. <>. Colonel Davide Salerno, together with the Deputy Commander, Colonel Pasquale Stasolla, presented the Rector with the activities of the Center, in particular the innovative teaching methodology that places the student at the center of the teaching process through the development of group work, the use of laboratories, and the study of specific cases. The delegates of the Rector involved in the implementation phase of the agreement were also present: Elisabetta Michetti for the University library system and Bianca Sulpasso for the language services. The Cen.For.Av.En. platform was then presented, which features 16 virtual classrooms for courses delivered in e-learning mode and a new system based on the “Apple Educational” technology that allows those attending in person to access the teaching platform 24 hours a day, to view films in the original language, with or without subtitles, and to take the corresponding comprehension quiz at the same time. The signing of this agreement, as pointed out by Colonel Salerno, <>. The Cen.For.Av.En depends on the Aeronautics Academy of Pozzuoli (NA) and the Command of Schools /3rd Air Region of Bari and provides training in the field of Aviation English to the air navigation personnel of the Air Force, other Armed Forces and Departments, and non-navigational personnel (Flight Controllers) for the subsequent ENAC certification for the issuance of the “EASA standard commercial pilot license” and the “Community license of air traffic controllers”.
Furthermore, it provides training for personnel belonging to specific specialties who, in accordance with European regulations in the sector, require an adequate level of technical and linguistic knowledge in order to obtain the “licence of aeronautical maintenance technician”.
