The training activity was perfectly successful thanks to the professionalism of the 83rd CSAR air rescue personnel who participated in the exercise. The real protagonists of the operation were the ’Angels of Rescue“, who, diving into the sea, caught and recovered the ”victims” who, once rescued aboard a previously alerted inflatable boat provided to the same rescue unit, were brought ashore at the nearby Stormo naval base. This activity is part of a framework of regularly planned and organized training operations annually aimed at preparing the air rescue crews for all types of emergencies they might be called upon to respond to, regardless of the type of environment and meteorological conditions present at the time. The exercise took place in the presence of the Commander of the 15th Air Wing, who expressed his satisfaction with the commitment and professionalism shown by his men, who led to the perfect success of the operation. Two days ago, off the coast of Tagliata di Cervia, at similar naval facilities of the Air Wing, a similar exercise took place, accompanied by the enthusiasm of the swimmers, still numerous on the Romagna Riviera.
