Simulated redeployment of construction site vehicles, equipment, and materials in Overseas Operations. The hypothetical scenario involved the preparation of a suitable site for the deployment of construction site vehicles, equipment, and materials for infrastructural needs in an international context.
Therefore, after the briefing on the objectives to be achieved and the safety briefing, at the end of which personal protective equipment was distributed to all participants, the exercise continued with the setting up of a “SAKA” tent with lightweight poles, provided by the 3rd Wing and used as an operations coordination centre, equipped with an electrical system powered by a mobile generator set/lighting unit belonging to the 27th Field Engineer Group.
Subsequently, the exercise entered its operational phase with the laying of metal grilles on a gravel base. The use of these grilles, which are considered controlled materials, was authorised by the Infrastructure Service of the Logistics Command.
At the end of the works, a yard of just over 700 square metres was created, on which construction site vehicles and equipment, as well as building materials belonging to the Department, were parked, thereby testing the infrastructure that had been built.
