Electronic Warfare: Change of Command at RE.S.T.O.G.E.

Colonel Gianluigi Attingenti hands over Command to Colonel Stefano Rigoni On Wednesday 22nd September, at Pratica di Mare Airport, the ceremony for the change of command at the Electronic Warfare Technical Operational Support Unit (Re.S.T.O.G.E.) took place between Colonel Gianluigi Attingenti and the Colonel Stefano Rigoni. The event, which took place in a restricted format, in accordance with the provisions relating to the ongoing health emergency, was chaired by the Commander of the 9th ISTAR-EW Air Brigade, Air Brigadier General Roberto Preo. The Colonel Attingenti, during his speech, he thanked the Superior Authorities and summarised the main objectives achieved during his two years in command, emphasising that the guiding principles for these successes had been “Teamwork, a sense of responsibility, participation, sharing, and a drive for continuous improvement in adherence to the A.M. guiding values: professional excellence, respect, exemplary conduct, dedication to service, and moral integrity.“The Colonel Rigoni, whilst thanking the Superior Authorities for the trust placed in him with the assignment of the prestigious and delicate task, he stated he was sure that the period that awaits him will be “demanding and challenging“challenges to face“with all available energy, with the fight tonight approach“. It also highlighted that “In modern operational scenarios, Electronic Warfare aspects play a crucial role and require continuous effort towards the evolution and refinement of applied knowledge and techniques.“He then took the floor, General B.A. Preo, who highlighted that in recent years “Growth within the ISTAR sector, particularly in the EW domain, has been brilliantly pursued and achieved, significantly enhancing overall capacity output with innovative programmes and capabilities, and increasing the prestige and capabilities of the Air Force within the GE sphere, an important sector that is a priority within the Air Force's Vision.“General Preo then thanked Colonel Attingenti for “the exemplary spirit of proactive collaboration”and“for having given impetus and concrete support to the amalgamation of Re.S.T.O.G.E. with the Command of 9th ISTAR-EW Air Brigade”and finally wished Colonel Rigoni to “achieve ever greater successes“, highlighting that it is possible that the future holds for him “further challenges to transform and further elevate the excellent reality it is preparing to command“.
