The aircraft of the 31st Stormo of Ciampino performed a double medical transport, completing seven routes and four transoceanic missions. The child, affected by retinal detachment, was assisted during the flight by a medical-sanitary team. Upon arrival in Detroit and the landing of the little patient, the aircraft departed, a few hours later, for the airport of the island of Roatan, in Honduras, to transport a compatriot of ours. The woman, in fact, following a serious traffic accident had suffered multiple fractures such as to prevent her from being transferred on a commercial flight, having to be properly immobilized on a stretcher. The Falcon Easy 900, after making a technical stop for refueling in the Bermuda Islands, arrived in Parma after approximately eight consecutive hours of flight. At the airport of the Emilia region city, the patient, assisted by a doctor, was transferred to the hospital on board an ambulance. On the afternoon of Saturday 12 May, the aircraft returned to Ciampino Airport after seven flights and four days of transoceanic mission. The aircraft of the 31st Stormo of Ciampino (RM) are used for state transport and for public utility missions, such as the emergency medical transport of sick people, severely traumatized people and organs for transplantation, as well as for interventions in favor of people in any other situation of risk. This latter activity, given the imminent danger to the lives of the people transported, requires a level of readiness twenty-four hours a day, 365 days a year.
