A contingent from the course gathered at the Specialists“ School. The students from that course, in fact, entered the School in 2003, where they undertook a training period lasting a total of two years. On the Parade Ground, the attendees, now Marshals serving in units of the Armed Force, met up to spend a day together and relive the emotions and memories of their training period. The reunion began with a welcome address from Colonel Veniero Santoro, Commander of the School, who, addressing the attendees, declared: "[...] I am pleased that you have chosen the Specialist School for your tenth anniversary since enlisting. The place where you lived for two years and took your first steps into our great family of the Italian Air Force. Reliving the same emotions ten years later is a source of satisfaction, both for you and for the School that trained you.“Subsequently, the day continued with a floral tribute at the Sacred Statue of the Madonna of Loreto and a visit to the most relevant areas of the Caserta institute, particularly the educational facilities dedicated to the training of specialists. At the end of the day, the course leader of “Fobos”, Marshal Valentina Colferai, presented Colonel Santoro with the course's commemorative medal, an example of which is also kept in the medal collection of the Vatican Library. The Italian Air Force School for Specialists provides basic military, cultural, technical-professional, and moral training for Specialists (Sergeants and Permanent Service Troopers), intended for deployment in Air Force units, both in Italy and in overseas operational theatres, as well as for non-commissioned personnel of the Armed Forces interested in a retraining/professional qualification process and “aircraft maintainers” from other Armed Forces and Police Forces. The School also provides logistical support to the Italian Army Group “Campania” engaged in the “Safe Streets” operation.
