The material, procured from the UN depot in Brindisi, was delivered to the Nigerien civil authorities at Niamey Air Base. A C-130J from the 46th Air Brigade has flown to Niger with a cargo of approximately seven tonnes of medicines, medical supplies, and equipment for purifying, collecting, and distributing drinking water, donated by the Italian State through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (supplied from the UN depot in Brindisi). This material was donated following a request for health support. expressed by Ministry of Public Health of Niger to combat the cholera epidemic that is afflicting the Maradi region.
