On Saturday 7th May, three reports on the Armed Force were broadcast within the RaiTre programme – the first highlighted the primary task of the Armed Force, namely the defence of national airspace. In particular, through a ‘scramble’, it was demonstrated how the pilots of the Air Force are trained and prepared to carry out their institutional task. The day of a pair of pilots at the 4th Wing of Grosseto was told, who, with two teams of technicians, are always on duty 24 hours a day to be ready to take off in minutes.;
- the second, through the direct testimony of Alberto Angela, who flew aboard the Eurofighter fighter jet, has further highlighted the importance and delicacy of Air Defence activity and the specifically dedicated weapon system: the F-2000 ‘Typhoon’ aircraft. The aim was to show the general public of ‘Ulisse’ what it means to be in flight aboard a fighter jet engaged in one of the operations to control and protect airspace; - the third saw the Italian Air Force Historical Museum of Vigna di Valle (Rome) as the protagonist and its ability, through highly qualified personnel, to preserve aeronautical heritage.
