The Serbian Air Force delegation was welcomed by General B.A. Baldazzi, Deputy Commander of the Air Operations Command.
The activity is part of the Italy-Serbia international cooperation plan, aimed at exchanging experiences at the Air Operation Center (AOC) level in the fields of Air Defense, Rescue and Air Transport. Upon his arrival, the Delegation was welcomed by Brigadier General of the Air Force Elia Baldazzi, Deputy Commander of the COA and Commander of the AOC, who presented the Department Crest to the Head of the Representation, Colonel Dragan Milenkovic.
After a presentation briefing on the activities of the COA, the visit continued at the National Operations Room (AOC), where the attention of the guests focused on the “Air Policing” activity carried out by the Air Force, both domestically and within the context of NATO integrated defense. In particular, this activity involved the use of radar systems and interceptor aircraft, belonging to the 4th Squadron of Grosseto, the 36th Squadron of Gioia del Colle and the 37th Squadron of Trapani, to monitor and preserve the integrity of the airspace, in the face of a complex organization of personnel, means, procedures and connections both at national and NATO level. On Thursday, July 12, the Delegation also visited the AM Coordination and Control Service (SCCAM) in Abano Terme, where it was welcomed by the Commander of the Department, Lieutenant Colonel Gianluca Dell’Aeree. During the briefing on the activities carried out by the Air Traffic Control Operations Room, the delegation expressed particular interest in the effective synergy and close coordination between the personnel of the Italian Air Force and that of the National Flight Support Agency (ENAV), in the provision of Flight Support services for Operational and General Air Traffic within the national airspace.
