A delegation from the Royal Netherlands Air Force visited the 28th Group of the 32nd Wing and the Remote Piloted Aircraft Systems Centre of Excellence at Amendola. The event, aimed at providing the Dutch Air Force with a deeper understanding of certain conceptual and managerial aspects of MALE UAS (Medium Altitude Long Endurance Unmanned Aerial Systems) capabilities, was managed, in accordance with the directives from higher commands, within the framework of the excellent collaborative relationships between the Italian Air Force and the Royal Netherlands Air Force. This was achieved through synergy between the 32nd Wing and the Remote Piloted Aircraft Systems Centre of Excellence, which is based at Amendola Air Base. The visit began with a presentation on the organisation and activities of the Wing and the RPAS Centre of Excellence, and subsequently focused on the 28th Group and the MQ-1C “Predator A Plus” and MQ-9A “Predator B” remotely piloted aircraft in its inventory. During this phase, the RNLAF representatives expressed great interest in the expertise acquired by the Italian Air Force in this specific sector, with a view to their own potential future acquisition of the Predator aircraft. At the end of the visit, highlighting the fruitfulness of the activity carried out, the head of the Dutch delegation conveyed his thanks to the 32nd Wing and the RPAS Centre of Excellence for the hospitality shown, the collaboration received, and the high professionalism of the personnel encountered.
