After visiting the Air Force Staff and the Centre for Higher Defence Studies (CASD), the delegation moved to the 4th Wing in Grosseto and the 51st Wing in Istrana, for direct contact with the operational reality of the Armed Force. On the morning of 24th October, the Chinese delegation arrived at the Air Force Staff, where the Deputy Chief of Staff, Air Force General Corsini, received General Wang for a brief “office call”, during which general topics concerning air cooperation between the two Air Forces were discussed. Subsequently, the foreign personnel had the opportunity to attend a presentation, given by the Head of the Air Force International Policy Office of the 3rd Department, Colonel Giovanni Savoldelli Pedrocchi, aimed at providing an overview of the organisation and tasks of the Air Force, the capabilities of the Air Force dedicated to the defence of Italian airspace, as well as future developments regarding new assets already acquired or to be acquired in the future. Considerable interest was generated by the briefing on the Base's activities, as evidenced by the large number of questions posed by the guests to Colonel Morelli, and by the visit to the F-2000 aircraft on static display at the 904th Group, where the unit's specialists explained the characteristics of the weapon system. Afterwards, the delegation left Grosseto Airport for Venice. October 25th was dedicated to the cultural programme in the city of Venice, organised by the Embassy of the People's Republic of China in Rome.
