Two urgent medical flights carried out on the same day by the 31st Wing of the Air Force. The Summit Situations Room, on the same day, coordinated another medical transport, this time requested by the Prefecture of Sassari, to transfer a one-year-old child, in imminent danger of life, from Alghero to Genoa with a Falcon 50 aircraft of the 31st Wing of Ciampino. The young patient, upon arrival at Genoa Airport, was transferred by ambulance to the Gaslini Hospital. Both aircraft, after completing their missions, returned to the Ciampino Military Airport. Aircraft of the 31st Wing of Ciampino, coordinated by the Summit Situations Room of the Air Force Staff, are used for State transport and for public utility missions, such as the urgent medical transport of the sick, seriously injured, and organs for transplantation, as well as interventions for people in situations of risk. This latter activity, given the imminent danger to the lives of the people transported, requires a readiness level of twenty-four hours a day, 365 days a year.
