The major restoration of his pictorial cycle, carried out in constant dialogue with the Special Superintendence of Rome, within the framework of the Aeronautics Palace – continue Borgonzoni – it is the will to further enhance the great history of aeronautical culture”– concludes the undersecretary.
“History, style, modernity and innovation: values that perfectly summarise this exhibition, as well as the Palace that hosts it, where Marcello Dudovich returns today after 90 years with renewed class, refinement and elegance.” stated the Chief of Staff of the Air Force, Air General Alberto Rosso, on the sidelines of the inauguration. “The Palace of Aeronautics is one of those rare cases where an exhibition space fits perfectly, permeating an harmonious systemic order between the space, the exhibited works, history, the people who wrote it, and the public.” The Italian Air Force, which responsibly safeguards and enhances the cultural heritage entrusted to it by history, periodically opens the doors of its Palace. The Palace, built in just two years by the young architect Roberto Marino at the commission of Italo Balbo, houses extraordinary architectural and pictorial works unique in Italian rationalism. It allows enthusiasts and curious visitors to admire the Piazzale with the Lapidary, the Grand Staircase, and the State Rooms, which are rich in historical memorabilia and beautiful wall paintings documenting the captivating history of the Italian Air Force, and the Fountain of Heroes.
