The verification activity for the annual maintenance of the S.G.Q. certification at the Fiumicino Technical Supply Centre has been completed.
For 2013 too, the CTR has therefore confirmed the QMS certification, a project that is synergistically placed within the context of a series of planned activities that are being proposed within the Air Force as driving forces for the transformation and change of the Armed Force.
The audit was carried out by a delegation from the Logistic Command, presided over by Colonel Spaziani. The inspection team highlighted the commitment of management at various levels of responsibility, capable of exploiting the potential of procedural qualities which, with the application of a valid quality system, improve performance by optimising time and economic resources.
Particular importance has been given to the application of the quality management system in administrative production processes, where constant improvement in results has been observed thanks to data analysis, from which corrective and preventive actions have led to the effective achievement of objectives.
The Commander of the CTR, Colonel Francesco Grassi, when greeting Colonel Spaziani, emphasised the importance of a quality system even within a logistics organisation like the Supply Technical Centre. In fact, thanks to the application of a dynamic management method and the collaboration of all the main stakeholders of the organisation, it has been possible to achieve important objectives in a relatively short time. By improving the quality of procedures, Colonel Grassi concluded, the quality of the results improves and the motivation of workers in achieving set goals increases. The CTR ensures the acquisition and management of materials and equipment in the sectors of motorisation, automotive/aviation fuels and lubricants, oxygen, chemical-physical controls, firefighting, CBRN, and photographic reproduction, guaranteeing related technical, logistical, and customs assistance to all Armed Forces Bodies and Departments. Furthermore, it manages the Central Depot activities for special material and the national POOL for the Armed Forces vehicle fleet.
