The 21st edition has concluded with important institutional recognition Cortinametraggio, the benchmark festival for short films in Italy. Among the most appreciated works at the event, the short film “Thank you for your service.”, directed by emerging director Jonathan Elia, managed to combine narrative excellence and institutional values, winning the prestigious OBE Award (Osservatorio Branded Entertainment) for Best Branded Short Film.
The project was born last year at Cortinametraggio and subsequently written and realised in synergy between the film production Baluma Productions S.r.l. and the’Italian Air Force, who provided technical and logistical support, ensuring absolute adherence to the operational reality of the rescue departments. This collaboration highlights the Italian Air Force's desire to use new audiovisual communication languages to tell its mission in the service of the community. The direction is by Jonathan Elia.
It OBE award, awarded during the prize-giving ceremony in Cortina, recognises “Thank you for your service”the ability to authentically and engagingly convey the values of the Italian Air Force's institutional “brand,” elevating the branded content format to a genuine auteur cinematic work.

During a high-altitude rescue operation, Valentina, a flight rescuer from the 15th Wing, finds herself operating in extreme conditions, facing hostile weather and borderline operational choices. The attempt to save a boy in shock pushes her to go beyond protocol and expose herself emotionally more than she would have anticipated, recalling a strong personal trauma.
