Pratica di Mare's 6th Helicopter Maintenance Department is also engaged in extraordinary maintenance activities to support the HH-101A helicopter fleet. The 6th Helicopter Maintenance Department is the maintenance body dependent on the 2nd Division of the Logistic Command, responsible for the technical, logistical, and maintenance support of the Armed Force's helicopter fleets. It carries out maintenance for the HH-101A helicopter, technical-logistical management of all rotary-wing fleets, training, and intense contract management activities. Furthermore, it performs maintenance on various avionics components of rotary-wing and fixed-wing aircraft, as well as non-destructive testing (NDT) and equipment calibration. The 6th HMD is also a centre of excellence for the Armed Force's maintenance of emergency and survival equipment and night vision devices.
