Scholarship Awards to ONFA Students

Among those awarded were two young people for master's degrees, three for bachelor's degrees, two of whom received top marks and honours, three for upper secondary school diplomas and two for lower secondary school diplomas. ONFA assists, throughout their entire educational period from nursery to university, the children of military personnel who have died from any cause, and since its formal establishment in 1937 it has guaranteed education to approximately 6,300 orphans.
General Bernardis, in the presence of the Armed Force’s top Commanders, congratulated the young awardees at the ceremony, and thanked the President of ONFA, Air Force Corps General Piergiorgio Crucioli, emphasizing how the Organisation is an “instrument of the Air Force in serving the orphans of military personnel to which it will never fail to provide its support.” General Crucioli, in thanking the Bodies, Companies and Associations that contributed to the fund for scholarships, underlined the fundamental importance that ONFA holds as a Public Body, and recalled that with Presidential Decree no. 23/12/2009, its legal status was reaffirmed as a guarantor of rights of constitutional relevance such as the equality of citizens and the right to education.
