From 24 to 25 March, at the’General Office for Managerial Innovation (UIM), the on-site visit by Accredia inspection personnel for the maintenance of the accreditation of was carried out AMiCERT, Certification Body (OdC) of the Italian Air Force for professional roles and quality management systems.
Accredia staff, welcomed by the Air Division General Giunchi, President of AMiCERT as well as Head of the UIM, preliminarily conducted a document review of the directives and procedures used to verify compliance with the international ISO standards for which the Certification Body is accredited. Subsequently, he was able to observe an oral examination session for the issuance of the certification of project manager towards an industry professional. At the same time, the circumstance was an important opportunity for professional growth for the staff of AMiCERT thanks to a fruitful exchange of ideas and experiences with a view to continuous improvement, a core principle and benchmark for those who work according to the principles of “quality”.
At the end of the visit, Accredia's staff expressed their sincere thanks for the welcome they received and their satisfaction with the level of professionalism shown by AMiCERT. In this regard, the General Giunchi expressed “full satisfaction with the results achieved in a constantly changing sector and the hope that the good managerial practices behind a certified professional figure or an organisation that adopts a quality management system can be increasingly disseminated within the Italian Air Force and the Defence sector”.
Accredia It is the body designated by the Italian government to attest the competence, independence and impartiality of bodies and laboratories that verify the conformity of goods and services with standards. It is a recognised association that operates on a non-profit basis, under the supervision of the Ministry of Economic Development, and is the reference authority for accreditation at national level.
AMiCERT it is the accredited certification body of the Italian Air Force, which has been operating on a non-profit basis since 2019. To date, it is responsible for certifying the professional figures of project manager, auditor and lead auditor and quality management systems (ISO 9001), in compliance with the requirements set out by international standards, across various sectors (IAF), ranging from Public Administration services to training activities, from aerospace industry processes and engineering services to the maintenance of electrical and optical equipment. Indeed, as part of its operations, AMiCERT has certified quality management systems for various Armed Forces bodies, including Maintenance Units, training institutes and testing laboratories, as well as project manager, auditor and lead auditor civilians and military personnel.
