Provide the necessary notions for the strategic and operational management of the iterative evaluation processes of the “Targeting Cycle”. The 7th edition of the “Initial Joint Targeting” course, taught entirely in English, has concluded for 15 attendees. The course was delivered to Officers and Non-Commissioned Officers from the Army, Navy, and Air Force, designated for deployment within joint support elements or staff departments of an Operational Command or a Joint Force Command.
The course, which is constantly updated according to current national and NATO doctrinal innovations, and has recently been included in the catalogue of courses offered to Alliance countries, is based on the operational concept of the “Targeting Cycle”, understood as an iterative process for evaluating at a strategic and operational level the objectives to be pursued, the subsequent results achieved, and an analysis of their correspondence. The training course was delivered by internal staff from the School with the support of instructors/lecturers from COI (Comando Operativo di Vertice Interforze - Joint Operations Command) who, by making their know-how in targeting activities available, helped maintain a high standard of teaching and the 'up-to-date” nature of the regulatory frameworks. Included in the Education and Training Opportunities Catalogue (ETOC), the catalogue of certified courses offered by ACT, Supreme Headquarters located in Norfolk, Virginia (USA), responsible for training, doctrine, and transformation of NATO's military instrument, the ”Joint Targeting“ course further contributes to expanding the training opportunities that the Defence, through the Joint Institute in Guidonia (RM), makes available to countries belonging to the Atlantic Alliance in the field of Air Cooperation.
The Air Cooperation School is the inter-force military institute for specialist training and technical-operational validity in the field of remote sensing image interpretation and in that of air-ground and air-naval cooperation. For the training and qualification of Joint Terminal Attack Controllers, the commander of the School is the “National Certification Authority”.
The courses at the School of Aerocooperation are open, in addition to military personnel of the Armed Forces, also to personnel external to the Defence Administration and to military personnel of NATO and of countries participating in the international "Partnership for Peace" (PfP) programme.
The School's Mission is to provide excellent training, unique within the Defence sector, specialising national and international personnel in the fields of Remote Sensing and Aero-cooperation. This is achieved by a highly motivated and professional staff, utilising state-of-the-art technology. The School's Vision is to maintain a training offering of absolute quality, in a continuous and constant process of improvement and adaptation to the operational needs of Defence, fully integrated within the international context. Professionalism and passion in service of the country.
