The course, organized by the Air Force Command, was conducted by instructors from the Airport Command of Pratica di Mare (RM).
Twenty military personnel from the local Ground Force Protection Group participated in the course, organized by the Air Squadra Command and taught by instructors from the Pratica di Mare Airport Command (RM), in the category of Ground Force Support Operations.
The staff involved have integrated the quota of personnel already qualified in the three previous editions, held at the General Services Support Department of the Air Operations Command, effectively completing the training in the specific sector of almost the entire personnel responsible for supervising the Base.
The course’s activities, aimed at increasing the response capabilities in the face of a threat directed at a military installation, specifically covered security procedures for the use and handling of the weapons provided, operational procedures for intervention in the event of a threat, and security procedures to be used in combat in confined spaces.
A day of the course was also dedicated to the procedures to be implemented in the event of an IED (Improvised explosive device) threat. To this end, the Artificers Nucleus of the Provincial Command of the Carabinieri in Bologna held a special lesson to recreate a specific event during the final evaluation exercise of the course.
