The first certificates of specialty exchange for the Sub-officer personnel who will operate as specialists on the F35-JSF aircraft have been delivered. At the end of the training process, which took place at the Training Directorate of the 1st Aircraft Maintenance Department (R.M.V.) in Cameri (NO), Colonel Flavio Guercio, Director of the Department, delivered the certificates of completion to the personnel.
The training process, which began on January 14, allowed the personnel from the 32nd Stormo at Amendola to acquire the new specialty “JSF Mechanical Engineer”, which, together with the “JSF Avionics Engineer” and “JSF Armorer” specialties, will characterize the specialists who will operate on the new aircraft.
The next step for specialists who have purchased the new specialty will be, in the near future, the frequency of technical courses at the USAF Base in Eglin (Florida), where personnel will be able to acquire the full maintenance capabilities for the machine.
The Training Directorate of the 1st R.M.V., already responsible for the training of all technical personnel, Officers and Sub-Officers, destined to operate on the Tornado and Eurofighter weapon systems, is now entering a new phase, starting to confront itself with the educational needs related to the planned entry into service of the new fifth-generation weapon system, with its certainly innovative design, construction and operational characteristics.
This activity falls within the tasks of the Center for Multifunctional Aerotactic Aircraft (Ce.Po.V.A.) in Cameri (NO), from which the 1st R.M.V. depends, related to the implementation of logistical factors and the development of the F35-JSF program.
During the ceremony of awarding the certificates, Colonel Guercio wanted to emphasize that: “This course is an important moment for the JSF program as it represents a significant step in preparing the Armed Forces to operate the new aircraft.”. The 1st Aircraft Maintenance Department represents the center of excellence for the technical, logistical, maintenance, and engineering management of the Armed Forces’ weapon systems.
It depends on the Velivoli Aerotattici Polifunzionale Center (Ce.Po.V.A.) in Cameri, the main engineering, maintenance and logistics hub for high-performance “fast jet” aircraft.
