PAN exhibition In 2010 as well, the Air Force Operations Command (COFA) in Poggio Renatico (Ferrara) confirmed its availability to collaborate with local institutions to set up an Air Force stand in the park. Over 350,000 visitors attended the ten-day event. The stand included the cockpit of an F-104 fighter jet, a static exhibition curated by the 32nd Air Force Radar Group of Otranto featuring radar equipment from the 1950s, a section dedicated to promotional activities, and another section dedicated to the Air Force Association, which presented the history of the Armed Force. Furthermore, for the benefit of the hot air balloon crews, a meteorological shelter was provided, staffed by specialist personnel who offered real-time forecasts. Another attraction at the stand was a static precision shooting range with ’Soft Air‘ weapons. During the weekends, an NH-500 helicopter from the 15th CSAR (Combat Search and Rescue) Wing was also on static display in the area in front of the COFA stand.
To close the event on Saturday 25th September, the National Aerobatic Team ‘Frecce Tricolori’ performed at the Aeroclub of Ferrara, their third performance in the last four years. This was a tribute by the Italian Air Force to the city of Ferrara, also in celebration of the 150th Anniversary of the Unification of Italy. The event attracted over 150,000 enthusiasts, far exceeding previous performances in 2007 and 2008.
