The Joint Interforce Military Band performs in the auditorium of the Guardia di Finanza Student Legion. In his speech, General Cormio wished to emphasise the importance of the event which, since 1998, has now represented a well-established tradition and a dutiful, heartfelt tribute to the city of Bari, which has always embraced with friendship and esteem important units of all the Armed Forces, engaged synergistically in ensuring the internal security and sovereignty of our country. General Cormio expressed his sincere gratitude to all the military personnel engaged in operations outside national borders, but above all wished to remember the many young men who sacrificed their lives to carry out their duty in the service of the State. The Joint Interforce Military Band, composed of the Fanfare of the Air Force Schools Command / 3rd Air Region, and members of the Army, Carabinieri and Guardia di Finanza, was conducted by Maestro 1st Warrant Officer Lieutenant Nicola Cotugno. The rich programme proposed focused, in the first part, on authors and music for the 150th anniversary of the Unification of Italy, and in the second on music by Maestro Nino Rota, director of the Bari Conservatory, whose birth centenary is celebrated this year.
