On December 3, the traditional event organized by the Air Operations Command was renewed. The bond between the Air Force and the citizens of Este was renewed once again on Sunday, December 3, with the “Concert of Charity”, organized by the Air Operations Command (COA) of Poggio Renatico at the “C. Abbado” Municipal Theatre in Ferrara. The magnificent prelude to the event was the superb performance of the Air Force rhythmic gymnastics team, which presented pairs and team exercises, earning the enthusiastic applause of an enthusiastic audience. Immediately afterwards, the COA Commander, Air Division General Antonio Conserva, in his greeting address, thanked the citizens who intervened, emphasizing the importance of the event “which, in addition to representing a dutiful and heartfelt tribute to the territory that has always embraced the Air Force with friendship and esteem, translates into a concrete opportunity to help people who are suffering and who need moral and material support”. In fact, during his speech, General Conserva presented to the President of the Ferrara branch of the Italian Red Cross one of the four defibrillators purchased with the proceeds of “Spring Run 2017”, the traditional running event of the COA that reached its tenth edition this year, before continuing by giving ample space to the presidents from the Ferrara Theatre Foundation, the Ferrara Association of Organ Donors (ADO), and the Voluntary Association “Vola nel Cuore”. These, skillfully managed by the presenter Antonella Vicenzi from Telestense, had the opportunity to present their ambitious projects to the warm audience, which, thanks to the contribution of the Air Force, the COA and the donations from the evening, will be developed and implemented to become increasingly integrated and supportive of the surrounding territory. A large audience attended the performance of the Fanfare of the 1st Air Region Command of Milan, directed by Maestro Primo Luogotenente Antonio Macciomei, which began its performance with the 'national anthem”, followed by the ”Military Air Force March“. A rich program was then presented with music by Brahms, Rossini, Puccini and some pieces of contemporary pop music, ending with two highly acclaimed encores. Particularly appreciated by the audience was the extraordinary participation of soprano Julianna DI GIACOMO, guest of honor of the evening, who, in her magnificent performance of ”O mio babbino caro“ and then of the traditional ”O Holy Night“, soothedly and sweetly announced the upcoming Christmas holidays. The concert will be broadcast in its entirety on Telestense on December 25 at 22:00.
