Press release no. 6/2021 Newborn in danger of life: Air Force medical transport from Alghero to Genoa The child was transferred in a Falcon 900 from the 31st Flight of Ciampino The air ambulance service does not stop only for the Covid-19 emergency. This morning, in fact, a medical transport with a Falcon 900 aircraft from the 31st Flight of Ciampino was carried out in favor of a newborn in need of urgent specialized care, transported to the Gaslini Hospital in Genoa. Launched from Ciampino around 11:00, the Falcon 900 landed at Alghero airport around 12:30. Here it boarded the newborn who was headed to the Ligurian hospital. After landing at the Genoa Airport in the early afternoon, the child was transported by ambulance to the Gaslini Hospital to receive the necessary care. The request for intervention came from the Sassari Prefecture to the Situation Room of the Air Force Command, the operational room of the Air Force that has among its tasks the organization and management of this type of transport throughout the national territory. Operations of this type require the utmost promptness. Through its flight divisions, the Air Force makes available means and crews ready to take off at any time to ensure the urgent transport not only of people in imminent danger of life, as happened yesterday, but also of organs and medical teams for transplants.
