Press Release No. 26/2021 AIR FORCE: 1ST AIR SPECIAL OPERATIONS BRIGADE REORGANIZED, NEW HEADQUARTERS AT FURBARA AIRPORT AS OF TODAY The 1st Air Special Operations Brigade ensures the specialisation and training of Special Forces (Raiders), Air Support Forces for Special Operations (S.A.O.S.) and for the activities of Personnel Recovery, ensuring the constant updating of procedures, the standardization and integration of training activities, as well as the efficiency of the weapon systems and necessary vehicles. Furthermore, it is responsible for expressing the capabilities required to set up a structure of a Special Operation Air Task Group (S.O.A.T.G.) highly specialised, versatile and with high levels of operational readiness for exercises and operations both at Armed Forces level and in a joint and international environment. They report to the 1st BAOS, the 17th Raider Wing of Furbara and the 9th Wing of Grazzanise; it also has a technical link with the 46th Air Brigade of Pisa for the updating of procedures, standardisation and integration of the S.A.O.S. training activity of the fixed-wing aircraft component
