On Tuesday, January 12, the handover of command with Col. Sciorella took place in the presence of Gen. B.A. Molteni, Commander of the 2nd Air Division of the Logistic Command. The ceremony was also attended by the Commander of the 1st Air Region, Air Force General Nello Barale, the Director General of Military Armaments, General Inspector Domenico Esposito, and the highest local institutional officials, including the Prefect of Novara, Dr. Giuseppe Amelio, the Chief Prosecutor of Novara, Dr. Francesco Saluzzo, the Mayor of the city of Novara, Avv. Massimo Giordano, and the Municipality of Cameri, architect Rosa Maria Monfrinoli. Col. Tudini, in his speech, emphasized that this Command represents “an important and exciting assignment, a mission that I feel a duty to undertake by committing all my professional and human resources, but which will nevertheless require the unfailing contribution of everyone in the Unit.”. Finally, General Molteni wanted to thank Colonel Morres for the level of excellence achieved by the Department and for the results achieved in the complex operational and support activities, and wished the new Commander to be able to continue in the direction taken, thereby achieving all the objectives that the Armed Forces will assign to the Command. Colonel Tudini comes from the “Urano III” course of the Air Force Academy in Pozzuoli (Naples). He began his operational career right in Cameri, where he served as a pilot of the 21st Fighter Group until he was appointed Group Commander and Chief of Operations Office of the 53rd Squadron, respectively in 1993 and 1994. Subsequently, after serving at the General Staff of the Defense and at the COI (Commanding Staff of the Inter-Service Summit) in Rome, he was Commander of the military airport of Avianodal from 1999 to 2001 and Commander of Linate Airport (Milan) from 2004 to 2009.
