The discreet and silent work of certain units is often the result of long analyses and research, and the output is a product of absolute quality.
General B.A. Morando, in his first speech as Commander of the 9th Air Brigade ISTAR-EW, thanked for the trust granted to him and emphasized the importance of the human factor: “I am fully aware of the responsibilities that this position entails,”, the new Commander of the Brigade declared, “In particular, those derived from the task of leading, in full compliance with laws and regulations, a formidable team of individuals with high levels of professionalism towards achieving the objectives assigned by the Armed Forces. Objectives that take on greater importance every day, particularly in a predictive perspective, in light of the theaters in which the Air Force is called upon to operate in the service of the country and in the context of a spectrum of military and non-military operations that is constantly becoming more complex. A task in which I strongly believe and for the performance of which I am determined to devote my best efforts, without limitations in time or commitment.”.

The evolution of the geopolitical scenario, the unprecedented technological development, the full involvement of the Armed Forces in crisis contexts, and the arrival of new military capabilities to effectively confront old and new threats will necessarily entail organizational and procedural changes in the near future, including at Pratica di Mare, which – addressed with the usual professionalism and passion – will guarantee excellent and lasting results in perfect line with the Brigade’s tradition.
The 9th ISTAR-EW Air Brigade (Intelligence, Surveillance, Targeting, Acquisition and Reconnaissance – Electronic Warfare), is employed by Air Squad Command, Its task is to synthesize the currently available ISTAR and Electronic Warfare (EW) capabilities and those of future deployment of the Air Force through the conduct of operational, informational, and support activities in the ISTAR-EW sector..
