The exhibition dedicated to the one hundredth anniversary of the Armed Forces arrives in Siracusa after the stop in Palermo
On Monday, November 6, at the’Urban Center in Syracuse, It was inaugurated in the presence of Prefect of Siracusa Raffaela Moscarella, of Mayor of Syracuse Francesco Italia and Brigadier General Romeo Paternò, Deputy Commander of the Schools Command/ 3rd Air Region, the traveling exhibition “One hundred years of the Air Force”.
During the brief inaugural ceremony, the Commander of the Siracusa Air Detachment, Lt Col Roberto Tabaroni, After the customary greetings, the Mayor of the city spoke, emphasizing that the Air Force, and in particular the Air Wing of Siracusa, is an integral part of the local community and that hosting this important event is a source of pride for the Municipal Administration and the entire community. Prefect Raffaela Moscarella, in turn, highlighted the active participation in the event, with particular reference to the high schools of the province; General Paternò, finally, greeted the participants, recalling that the path of the Air Force is constantly evolving, and that thanks to these first one hundred years, thanks to the work of our pioneering airmen, the Armed Forces, naturally focused on technological progress, are now ready to face the new challenges of tomorrow, with renewed confidence in the young people who will be part of that future.
The exhibition, which has arrived in Syracuse after the stop in Palermo, documents the History and the Traditions of the Air Force, telling the citizens about the most significant events that have characterized the Armed Forces during these first one hundred years of existence.

The Air Detachment of Siracusa is dependent on Command School A.M. / 3rd Air Region of Bari. It has the task of ensuring logistical and administrative support for the 137th Remote Radar Squadron in Mezzogregorio (Siracusa). It also manages the bodies that carry out social protection activities for members of the Armed Forces and their families.
