General Fornari took the charge of Head of Support Services at the ceremony, presided over by the Logistic Commander of the Air Force General Gabriele Salvestroni. Numerous civil and military authorities took part, in addition to a large representation of the Service’s personnel. General Li Causi, who had assumed the charge of Head of Service in 2011, during his address, while retracing the highlights of the period spent leading the Support Services, wished to thank all the personnel for the many objectives achieved in all the sectors of responsibility, having demonstrated a very high level of commitment and remarkable professionalism, especially during the conduct of training and operational operations, which were also carried out internationally and for which the Service obtained the highest recognition. The outgoing Chief of the Service then wished General Fornari every success in his new role, with the certainty that he can count on the contribution of a human potential of undisputed professional competence. General Li Causi, at the end of his speech, thanked General Salvestroni for the trust he had been given, thanks to which he was able to achieve all the objectives set out in full serenity. General Li Causi, promoted to the rank of General of the Air Force, took over the position of Commander of the Rome Air Force Command and General of the Weapons Role.
General Fornari, after extending a warm welcome to the authorities present, expressed his gratitude to General Salvestroni for the trust placed in him in assigning him the task of leading the Support Service, expressing sincere admiration for the staff and the awareness that he can rely on men and women of absolute value who will represent, especially in a period such as the current one characterized by persistent financial constraints, the essential element for achieving all the objectives assigned by the Armed Forces in the field of Logistic Support. At the conclusion of the ceremony, General Salvestroni, in highlighting the extreme importance of the activity carried out by the Support Service, especially in favor of operations conducted by the Armed Forces, thanked General Li Causi for the work carried out and the brilliant results achieved by all the components of the Service, and then wished General Fornari well in this important and responsible assignment.
