In the presence of Major General Antonio Tangorra, Commander of the 3rd Division of the Logistic Command, Colonel Sanasi took over from Colonel Scalese.
Colonel Sergio Antonio Scalese, after two years of intense work, has handed over command of the Re.S.I.A. to Colonel Sandro Sanasi, to take up the position of Head of Department at the 3rd Division of the Logistic Command. In his farewell speech, Colonel Scalese wished to thank all the personnel of the Department for the valuable cooperation received during his period of command, which made it possible to achieve important objectives, including the activation of the Department's new data processing centre, carried out entirely by Re.S.I.A. personnel without any interruption of services; the re-engineering of the Department's network, an essential condition for the proper functioning and security of the systems; the revision of the IT qualification course, optimised in its content and standardised for all categories of personnel; the transfer of the AM Palace data processing centre to the Department's command; the expansion of cyber defence capabilities; and, finally, a significant increase in the Department's participation in international and joint exercises or operations. During the ceremony, Inspector General Antonio Tangorra praised the outgoing Commander and the Department's personnel on behalf of the 3rd Division, drawing attention to future activities that will involve the new Commander and the entire Armed Force's logistic sector, as: “We are all living through a historic moment characterised by significant transformations which, while inherent to an armed force with a high technological content such as ours, have also been accelerated by the current situation, which demands an ever-increasing search for a reduction in personnel while maintaining qualitative levels.”.
Upon taking command, Colonel Sanasiha stressed that his intention will be to consolidate the results achieved with a constant drive for improvement in the quality of services offered by the Re.S.I.A. Colonel Sanasi, born in Copertino (LE) in 1964, entered the Air Force Academy in 1982 with the “Borea IV” course. He served in the V Department of the Air Force General Staff and subsequently at the 61st Wing in Galatina. In 1999, he held the position of Head of the IT Office at the Central Office of the Joint Organisation for Cooperation in the Armaments Field (OCCAR-EA) based in Bonn, Germany. Upon returning from abroad, he was assigned to the newly established Defence C4 Command of the Defence General Staff and, subsequently, to the VI Department of the Defence General Staff.
