Lieutenant Colonel Gasparini succeeded Lieutenant Colonel Metrano. In his farewell speech, Lieutenant Colonel Metrano emphasized the way in which, with professionalism, during the five years of his command, the men and women of the 112th were able to deal with not only ordinary emergencies, but also international emergencies and infrastructure-related problems.
The naming of the Department in memory of the brothers Camillo and Luigi Sommariva, decorated with the Silver Medal for Military Valor, commemorated Lieutenant Colonel Metrano; it also helped to further strengthen the bond that exists between the Air Force and the territory of the “Bassa”.
Lieutenant Colonel Gasparini, in thanking the Armed Forces for the opportunity granted to him, emphasized that “taking on responsibility” on a daily basis is essential to renew the oath to serve the homeland with honor and to enable the achievement of institutional and service goals.
Colonel Immella expressed his appreciation for the work carried out by Lieutenant Colonel Metrano and for the achievement of the set objectives, not least the contribution of the personnel of the 112th Reserve to the closing operations of subsidiary entities such as the Vizzini and Castel d’Annone Reserves; he believed that Lieutenant Colonel Gasparini was capable of continuing the work of his predecessor, thanks to the skills and qualities necessary to fulfill the delicate task of Commander while ensuring that all personnel carry out their duties in the utmost safety.
