Leadership change at UCOPRATA: General Roberto Di Marco is the new Head of the General Office for Accident Prevention and Environmental Protection

The General Officer, previously Inspector for Flight Safety and President of the Higher Institute of Flight Safety, assumes the position of Head of the General Office of the UCOPRATA, taking over from Colonel Antonio Pellegrino.

In the context of Palazzo Aeronautica, in the presence of Chief of Staff of the Air Force, Air Force Corps General Antonio Conserva, the Air Brigadier General Roberto Di Marco he took on the task of Head of the General Office for Occupational Safety and Environmental Protection (UCOPRATA), substituting for Colonel Antonio Pellegrino.

In his speech, General Conserva expressed his appreciation for the work carried out by Colonel Pellegrino, highlighting the quality and effectiveness of the results achieved in a sector considered increasingly strategic for the Armed Forces. He also highlighted that General Di Marco’s choice reflects the desire to continue the path begun, continuing to achieve the objectives already outlined.

In his farewell speech, Colonel Pellegrino recounted more than three years of intense activity, full of transformations. During his tenure, in fact, UCOPRATA initiated a profound reorganization, strengthening direct support to Squadron Commanders and peripheral units.

In the handover ceremony, General Di Marco expressed his gratitude to Colonel Pellegrino for the excellent work carried out and the brilliant results achieved, emphasizing the desire to transfer the concepts developed in the world of flight safety to give strength and continuity to the path already begun, regarding consulting and training, strengthening the organizational and management systems in the areas of health, safety and the environment.

The’General Office for the Coordination of Accident Prevention and Environmental Protection (UCOPRATA), under the direct supervision of the Chief of Staff of the Air Force, has the task of defining the policies and guidelines of the Armed Forces in the fields of occupational safety and environmental protection, promoting the dissemination of the culture of prevention and the valorization of the principles that inspire it, in line with the operational objectives and the values of the Air Force, and fostering the creation and sharing of the culture and values that characterize these topics, for all personnel in blue.
